Ortofon Stylus Replacements
When introduced Ortofon M-20 Super replaced the VMS-20E mk II as top-of-the range for Ortofon MM cartridges. It came in the elliptical M-20E Super variant and the fine-line M-20FL Super variant. The cartridge body was essentially the same as the one used for the earlier Ortofon VMS range and their derivatives, but the styli were finer. The recommended tracking force is 1,0g - 2,0g with 1,5g as the recommended optimum.
D-20E Super Stylus for Ortofon M-20E Super
Although the M-20 Super also came in a fine-line variant, we are only able to provide styli for the elliptical M-20E Super. You can choose between an original Ortofon D-20E Super and a high quality aftermarket replica from Tonar. Note that Ortofon originally ensured cartridge/stylus specificity by the use of a spigot (on stylus) and socket (on cartridge body) matching system. The direct replacements suggested below both have a correct spigot and track at the recommended 1,0g - 2,0g.

The Ortofon VMS cartridge families, i.e. F, FF, VMS, M, all used the same generator. To ensure specificity, Ortofon used a spigot on all styli shaped to only match the socket of the intended cartridge bodies. The Ortofon M-20 Super series used a different spigot shape that was specific only to the M-20 Super cartridge body.
