The original beige SS39B stylus is a 0,7mil spherical diamond stylus with a recommended tracking force of 1,5g to 3,0g. It is interchangeable with it's elliptical siblings EJ and ED although these have a lower recommended tracking force.

The original light green SS39EJ stylus is an elliptical (biradial) 0.4x0.7mil diamond stylus with a recommended tracking force of 0,75g to 1,5g.

SS39ED Stylus for Shure SC39ED
The original Orange SS39ED stylus is an elliptical (biradial) 0,2x0,7mil diamond stylus with a recommended tracking force of 0,75g to 1,5g. Unfortunately replacements are no longer available but the EJ version above can be used as a drop in substitution only with a slightly different tip profile.

We still have original Shure SS39B and SS39EJ styli but the SS39ED was sold out many years ago. B, EJ and ED are interchangeable and while the B is a spherical stylus with a recommended tracking force of 1,5g-3,0g the EJ and the ED are both elliptical with identical recommended tracking force of 0,75g-1,5g. The difference between them is the elliptical shape which is 0,2x 0,7 mils for the ED while it is 0,4x 0,7 mils for the EJ. Furthermore the EJ is Light Green while the ED is orange.
