Dual CDS 640/CDS 650 Stylus - DN 6, DN 62, DN 63, DN 64, DN 65
Dual Stylus Replacements
DN 65(85) Stylus for CDS 640/6, 641/6, 642/6, 650/6, 651/6
DN 65 was a single sided stylus with a 15u diamond for LP Stereo Play. Today the cost of adding an extra tip is very low, so almost all replacements are double-sided. Here we include all replacements that have at least one diamond stereo tip. Choose a stylus with two Diamond Stereo tips for double life time or a different second stylus if you have other playing needs than diamond stereo. Recommended Tracking force 3,5g - 4,5g.

The Dual CDS 640-651 cartridges can use a number of different replacement styli each differing in the tip configuration. The most common are the DN 6, DN 63 and DN 65 styli.
DN 6, DN 63 were dual-sided, meaning the stylus can be flipped in the cartridge to use a stylus tip on the other side. This allows for easy playback of different records or in the case of two identical tips, extended play time at little or no extra cost.
The DN 65 had a single diamond tip for LP Stereo Play. The longer expected playing time of the diamond and a higher cost at the time probably was the reason only one tip was mounted. However today the cost of adding an extra tip is very low, so almost all replacement styli are dual sided. We consider all replacements that have at least one diamond tip for Stereo Play to belong to the DN 65 family of styli.
