946/D67 Stylus for Philips GP-406 mk II

946/D67 Stylus for Philips GP-406 mk II
We suspect that the original stylus for the GP-406 mk II differed slightly from the 946/D67. The cantilever system was most likely a little heavier and the suspension not nearly as compliant. The difference is academic as originals are not available. We propose that you use the below elliptical aftermarket replacements. They were designed for the Philips GP-412 mk II and therefore behave like the 946/D67 and track at the same 0.75g - 1.5g.
Mono Stylus for Philips GP-406 mk II
To play 78RPM mono records with your Philips GP-406 mk II, use the wide diameter spherical 78RPM stylus from Tonar offered below.
Upgrade stylus for Philips GP-406 mk II
As the standard replacement option for the more advanced GP-412 mk II is already our suggestion the GP-406 mk II, you will have to use either a GP-422 mk II replacement or the below JICO SAS on Boron fine-line stylus in order to actually upgrade your GP-406 mk II. The JICO is better than any stylus ever offered by Philips and tracks superbly between 1g and 1.5g.
