The handbuilt Goldring G1042 cartridge is the top of the line cartridge in the Goldring 1000 series.
Goldring G 1042 uses the D42 Gyger S stylus with its 6 µm radius nude diamond. This is a revolutionary line-contact stylus type which is shaped to more closely resemble the record cutting head than any previous design.
Mid-range tonality of Goldring G1042 is incredibly accurate and precise with no high frequency sibilance. Tracking ability is fantastic and the extended sidewall contact of the Gyger-S diamond also gives the Goldring 1042 unsurpassed resolution of the fine groove modulations. Goldring G1042 has the detailed and dynamic house-sound combined with an exceptionally detailed, smooth musicality.
The Goldring 1000 series has an almost legendary status for delivering some of the best sounds produced by moving magnet cartridges.
Goldring 1000 series cartridges use a strong one piece body which holds the fixed parts securely in place. The body can be tightly bolted to the head shell for maximum efficiency and optimum sound quality, because it is made from a special type of ultra-rigid, glass reinforced polyester called Pocan.
All styli in the Goldring 1000 series are interchangeable.
DaCapo Audio recommend Goldring G1042 for medium to high mass tonearms and 20 hours of break in period.
