All Goldring 1000 series cartridges are handbuilt. Goldring G1012GX is no exception.

Like the more expensive siblings the Goldring G1012GX also has a quite sophisticated stylus tip, namely the fine line nude Gyger II tip. This stylus tip provides the Goldring cartridge with smooth, extended highs, low distortion and reproduces a highly detailed and dynamic sound. Advanced diamond tip polishing ensures excellent tracking ability and reduces record wear. Because it fills the record groove more completely due to its larger major radius, the Gyger II represents a major upgrade over normal elliptical stylus types.

The Goldring 1000 series has an almost legendary status for delivering some of the best sounds produced by moving magnet cartridges.

Goldring 1000 series cartridges use a strong one piece body which holds the fixed parts securely in place. The body can be tightly bolted to the headshell for maximum efficiency and optimum sound quality, because it is made from a special type of ultra-rigid, glass reinforced polyester called Pocan.

All styli in the Goldring 1000 series are interchangeable.

We recommend Goldring G1012GX for medium to high mass tonearms and we recommend 20 hours of break in period.
