Goldring E2 is sitting in the middle of the Goldring E-range of MM cartridges. It features the same spherical stylus profile as the E1 but with the additional benefit of an upgraded aluminium cantilever. This is both stiff and light-weight allowing the stylus to more accurately trace medium to high frequencies offering more detail and reducing distortion and mis-tracking during loud passages.
The E series is the successor of the Goldring Elan’s and Goldring Elektra’s and uses Magnetic Duplex Technology which improves stereo rendition. Like the successors, musicality, rhythm and attack are the keywords for Goldring E2 and reviews show that it is on par with most elliptical cartridges when it comes to clarity and details.
In addition you have upgrade possibilities later with the super elliptical E3 or E4 stylus for even more sophisticated sound quality.
DaCapo Audio recommend Goldring E2 for medium to high mass tonearms and 20 hours of break-in.
