Sumiko Oyster is the entry level cartridge for the whole Sumiko program. Even though this is the entry level model, it is so to say, the mother of all other Sumiko cartridges and it has the smooth and musical Sumiko house sound.
Sumiko Oyster comes with a spherical diamond that is the reason for its musicality. Good vinyl reproduction is not necessarily a quest for more and more details in the highs - it is in particular a quest for musicality. Many audiophiles know that spherical cartridges can be extremely musical. The Sumiko Oyster is.
All Sumiko’s cartridges are handcrafted in Yokohama, Japan and deliver a performance that has enlightened generations of listeners.
Sumiko Oyster has the universal ½”-mount. We recommend around 20 hours break-in.
