Audio Technica AT-ART9XA MC Cartridge

The Audio Technica ART9XA is together with ART9XI the top of the line of the new ART9 series. They are an update of the discontinued AT-ART7.

The Audio Technica ART9XA has a Shibata stylus on a 0.28 mm diameter solid boron cantilever. The Shibata stylus delivers a very present, lively and detailed sound.

The “ART” in the model name stands for Audio-Technica Reference Transducer, a designation that Audio Technica only gives to their flagship phono cartridges. Compared with the magnetic core used in most MC cartridges, non-magnetic core cartridges are free from magnetic distortion, allowing for natural timbre and a precise sound field. 

Audio Technicas dual moving coil ART9XA has the universal ½”-mount and threaded inserts in the cartridge body, which enable the cartridge to be mounted to the headshell with just two screws.
