Granted, 18 different variants is a lot to take in. But in reality you only have to choose between the two different cartridge bodies, each mounted with one of three stylus options and finally if you want it premounted on a headshell (silver/black) or not.

The J44D is made to follow the specs of Shure M44G, while the J44A 7 is closer to the Shure M44-7.

When it comes to stylus, there is one first simple question: "Are you a DJ or not?" If you are using this cartridge for HiFi you should choose the variant with "Imp Nude" stylus - not anything with DJ or Aurora in the name. The Imp Nude stylus is for hifi-use with normal tracking force recommendations similar to Shures N44G and N44-7 styli. The recommended tracking force for N44G is 0,75g - 1,5g while the N44-7 is 1,5g - 3,0g.

If you are DJ, go for "Dj" or a "Aurora". These stylus options have increased tracking force recommendations in the range of 3,5g . 4,5g. They are created for professional use. The Aurora option is "Glow in the Dark" while the DJ option is not. All other aspects are the same between the two.

Finally you have the choice of getting your new cartridge pre-mounted on JICO's very nice headshell with high quality cabling. The headshell comes in black or silver and JICO calls these variants for Omnia.

So there you have it - 18 options quickly narrowed down to a few options. If you wish our help to decide on the best cartridge for you, please feel free to reach out to us.
